Almost finished with 1st Quarter

Today, of all days, I am at home, sick as a dog but still working!  Today I conversed with 4 teachers about their library time.  Booked and unbooked library time.  Releasing library time is always fun because emails just start arriving in my inbox.  The library is loved at my school!

Then, after lounging on the couch (after deciding that walking was not in my repertoire for today), I watched/listened/participated in Gale's Webinar entitled: Preparing High School Students for College Level Research which was about using databases instead of Google (sorry Google--but academics require academic material) and preparing students with college level research skills.  Great insights into how some schools have and integrate grade level information literacy skills across content areas.

Takeaways:  see what "Capstone" or "Senior Projects" are in place at my school, create a database scavenger hunt, locate all resources (paid and free) that our school has AND have one central place to list those links, ie the library webpages.
